DECEMBER 29, 1959 - AUGUST 13, 2022
Chambers "Willie" Junes departed this earthly life on August 13, 2022. He was born on December 29, 1959, in Dillon, SC to Elizabeth Davis Carroll and the late Chambers Junes, Sr.
"Will" or "Wille" as he was affectionally known spent his early years with his eldest sister, Zindi and extended family members in South Carolina. Around age 7, Will moved to the Washington, DC area with his mother and was wholeheartedly accepted by his stepfather, Mr. Ralph Carroll, whom he referred to as "Pops". Will attended DC public schools. After high school, he served five years in the National Guard. Will was a jack of many trades. He was always good with his hands and proved very capable at any task.
Will loved his family. He was a father, teacher, protector, guide, friend and a myriad of things.
He was an artist. He was a gifted with creative artistic abilities and could draw almost any character free handedly. He made wood carvings, ceramic art, handmade holiday cards, built communities and figurines using popsicles sticks and played chess. He was known in the community as a nice guy. He had his struggles, but never caused trouble and was always willing to help elders or anyone. Whenever he could, he would look out for and help those in need. He had a big heart. He will be remembered for his chill, and welcoming demeanor.
Will leaves to cherish his memory, his mother Elizabeth Carroll; his only child Keyonna Sarah Junes; his three sister's Zindi Tate (Gerald Tate), Romona Carroll (Anthony Watson) and Penny O' Neal (Craig O'Neal); his five nephews Richard Tate (Shani), Jahmir O'Neal, Jahmari O' Neal, Hannibal O'Neal and Djoser O'Neal; two nieces Robyn Tate and April Tate; his aunt Frances Jarret and a host of great nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends who loved him dearly.
